Install

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag DevSweep into Applications.
  2. Open DevSweep from Applications. macOS says it can't be opened, because the app isn't notarized. Click Done.
  3. Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security. Scroll down to the message about DevSweep and click Open Anyway, then confirm with your password or Touch ID.
  4. DevSweep opens and starts its first scan. You only do this once.

Prefer Terminal?

This removes the download quarantine flag so macOS opens the app straight away:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/DevSweep.app

Why the extra step?

Apple only skips this warning for apps signed with a paid Developer ID. DevSweep is free and signed locally instead. You can compare the file with the SHA-256 above, and read what it does on the Features page.
